About
Dave, Janet, and Jason are NRA Basic Pistol Instructors, do fingerprints, and take passport-style photos. Dave and Jason are also each a notary public (sorry, we can't notarize applications for classes we teach).
Dave has been teaching the Utah CFP course since March 2006. In "real
life", he is in Product Management in the high-tech field and has worked
at well-known companies including IBM, Novell, and Microsoft.

A Glock armorer, Dave has a soft spot for the chunky black guns some think are just plain ugly. Dave likes them for their elegant engineering and for the fact they always go bang when you want them to.

Janet has successfully raised three wonderful kids (including Jason) and put up with Dave's gun hobby for years. Janet is able to bring a women's perspective to the course, which is especially useful when addressing topics such as methods of concealed carry, secure storage, and teaching children. In addition to formal firearms training, Janet is an NRA Basic Pistol Instructor. She also has many years of experience instructing children.
Jason's day job is a computer programmer. His personal preference for a carry firearm is the Glock 30 (.45 ACP). He became a Utah Concealed Firearms Permit instructor to help people learn personal defense and gun safety.
With an interest in martial arts and personal security, Jason has been "playing" Capoeira since 2003 and has had formal training in defensive handgun. Jason is fluent in Portuguese, and for fun plays the violin and guitar in his spare time.
