Utah CFP Course

"It's all about having options..."

The ClassGlock charcoal

Classes are taught by David Gardner, Janet Gardner, or Jason Gardner. David, Janet, and Jason are NRA Basic Pistol instructors and have had formal training with concealed firearms.

The emphasis of the class centers around safely handling firearms and learning the rules and regulations relating to the Utah Concealed Firearm Permit. No live ammunition is allowed in the area during class.

Cost for the class is $40 per person, or $60 per married couple. Spouses are highly encouraged to get a permit even if they have no intention of ever carrying a firearm. There is a five student minimum for private courses. Classes normally aren't scheduled too far in advance since the classes are usually taught in people's homes.  See scheduling for information on upcoming classes.

You should plan on the course taking five hours.  Shooting fundamentals such as grip, stance, trigger pull, and so on are taught one-on-one with each student, so the number of students in a class can influence the amount of time needed.

Fingerprints and photos are included in the cost of the course.  The only thing you need to do outside of the course is to have your signature notarized on the application—which can be done before or after the course.

All students receive the course outline (including pertinent Utah rules and regulations), a Utah CFP application, a ten-print fingerprint card, and an envelope addressed to Utah BCI that can be used to send in the application materials.  The instructions for filling out the ten-print card will be provided at class. All you will need to bring to the course is your driver's license, a black pen, and class payment (cash or check).

NO LIVE AMMUNITION IS ALLOWED IN THE AREA DURING CLASS
